SEDCO Announces Outstanding Business Awards for 2019

SCARBOROUGH, MAINE (September 16, 2019) – The Scarborough Economic Development Corporation’s (SEDCO’s) Board of Directors announces the recipients of this year’s Outstanding Scarborough Business awards. The awards will be presented at the corporation’s 34th Annual Meeting, which will take place at the Black Point Inn on October 1, 2019 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

The 2019 Outstanding Scarborough Businesses include:

Dunstan Tap & Table: Project of the Year 2019

Glidden Roofing Corporation:  Outstanding Legacy Business 2019

Abbott: Outstanding Business of 2019

Bei Capelli:  Outstanding Business of 2019

Hannaford: Leader in Sustainability 2019

Frith Farm:  Leader in Sustainability 2019

“It’s a pleasure to once again recognize outstanding businesses in Scarborough,” said Andrea Killiard, SEDCO Board Chair. “We have six incredible businesses to recognize this year. In addition to our traditional categories, we are recognizing leadership in sustainability for the first time.  We know that sustainable business practices are critical to success for the company and the community.”

 “The SEDCO annual meeting celebrates the energy and creativity of businesses in Scarborough,” said Karen Martin, SEDCO executive director. “It’s our way of thanking our businesses for choosing Scarborough and contributing to the community.”

The annual meeting program also features Jeffrey Sanders, President of Maine Medical Center, as the keynote speaker. Sanders plays a critical role in collaborating with physicians, developing relationships and initiatives aimed at strengthening market presence and integrating services and practice sites.
